Reddened or High Colour Rosacea

Often the earliest and most common form, this type of rosacea presents as a constant flush or blush across the cheeks, nose, chin, and forehead.

Key characteristics:

  • Persistent redness or visible flushing
  • Fine, visible capillaries (thread veins) beneath the surface
  • A feeling of warmth, tightness, or stinging
  • Skin that reacts easily to heat, skincare products, or spicy foods

Known medically as Erythematotelangiectatic Rosacea (ETR), this type rarely involves pustules but can leave the skin highly sensitive and reactive.

Recommended skincare approach:

The goal is to calm, hydrate, and strengthen the skin barrier while protecting against triggers and irritation.

  1. Cleanse delicately with the Gentle Cleanser & Eye Make-Up Remover to remove impurities and makeup without stripping natural moisture.
  2. Soothe and strengthen with The Specialist Serum, featuring Retinyl Palmitate to gently refine texture and support healthy renewal - kind to sensitive skin.
  3. Calm irritation and reduce visible redness using Calming & Desensitising Gel, which provides instant cooling comfort.
  4. Hydrate and protect with Oxygenating Moisture Protection Day Cream during the day and support overnight recovery with Oxygenating Night Cream

This gentle yet effective routine helps to reduce visible redness, reinforce the skin barrier, and promote a softer, calmer complexion.

Pustular (Papulopustular) Rosacea

This more inflammatory form may present with red bumps or whitehead-like pustules on the cheeks, chin, and nose — often alongside general redness and tenderness.

Key characteristics:

  • Inflamed spots and pustules
  • Underlying redness and sensitivity
  • Possible swelling or uneven skin texture
  • Skin that feels sore or hot, particularly during flare-ups

Although pustular rosacea may appear similar to acne, it is an inflammatory condition, not caused by bacteria. It therefore requires skincare that soothes, purifies, and protects — never over-dries or aggravates.

Recommended skincare approach:

The focus is to reduce inflammation, purify gently, and strengthen the skin barrier for improved balance and comfort.

  1. Cleanse effectively yet gently with Active Cleanser to clear impurities and reduce congestion while maintaining hydration.
  2. Soothe inflammation and irritation with Calming & Desensitising Gel, ideal for sore or reactive skin during flare-ups.
  3. Soothe and refine with The Specialist Serum, containing Retinyl Palmitate to encourage gentle renewal, refine texture, and restore clarity — without dryness or irritation.
  4. Hydrate, strengthen, and protect with Enhance & Protect, a lightweight, antioxidant-rich formula that shields the skin from environmental stressors.

This specialist routine helps reduce inflammation, prevent flare-ups, and restore a calmer, healthier-looking complexion.
