the benefits of Retinol

Retinol is known for its awesome skincare benefits, it’s a true powerhouse ingredient that can transform all skin types.
There can be some confusion though about the different types of Retinol, Retin-A, Retinaldehyde, Tretinoin… (all of which are derivatives of the Vitamin A).
We use Retinyl Palmitate within our Specialist Serum and Super Lifting Serum, which is the least irritating of all four, making it a great option for almost all skin types and anyone who wants to keep their pores clear and skin youthful.
The bonus is, because of its gentler nature Retinyl Palmitate can be used every day, allowing your skin to benefit from the optimum results without any irritation.
When applied, your skins natural enzymes convert Retinyl Palmitate to retinol,
although Retinyl Palmitate is gentler it doesn’t mean it’s not going to give your skin the same effects.  In fact, the kinder nature of this process is much easier for your skin to tolerate.
✔️ Increases skin cell turnover making way for new, brighter cells and a more even skin tone, helping to correct hyperpigmentation.
✔️ Boosts Collagen and Elastin production to improve and help prevent the appearance of lines, wrinkles and crepey skin
✔️ Helps to control the sebum production within the skin to reduce blocked, enlarged pores and acne formation.
Contrary to popular claims you can use Retinol all year through and the summer can actually be a good time to use it provided it is used correctly and in the right formulation, here's why;
Because retinol works by encouraging cell turnover and increasing collagen production it helps to prevent and repair damaged skin cells.
It can even out skin pigment and texture, including brown sun spots that are more prevalent during the summer months.
The summer climate leaves your skin more naturally moisturised which is especially good if you suffer with dryness and can be the best time to start if you have never used a retinol before.
